Topics and Speakers:

There are 3 of us speaking that day.
***Two  people will be speaking about interns available at ASU and how to access students to do internships & capstone projects for your nonprofit organization.
Clare Rhoads will also be speaking that day about how to get volunteers, interns & donated items through the CommunityCause.org website. She will be presenting an overview of how to get started using the free features on CommunityCause.org

***There seem to be so many avenues to get interns at ASU and I am so grateful that there will be one person, Erica Schwartzman, to speak about how the general internships work where students sign up for service learning to get class credit. These can be any type of topic or skill set. There are many students with a variety of skill sets who are studying a many different educational subjects.

***Althea Pergakis from Digital Culture (Computer skills, Digital, Video, Social Media) will also be speaking on Friday. She  will be able to describe how to work directly with a specific school at ASU to get interns. I know many nonprofits would like to increase their internet presence, make videos and leverage social media. I have learned that each school at ASU offers its own internships for its degrees and, therefore, has its own process. We are thrilled to Althea come to share how nonprofits can work directly with individual schools at ASU to offer internships and capstone projects that help students earn their degree.

They both offer great internship possibilities through 2 different avenues.

They will share examples of the types of internship skills and abilities their students have and the types of projects they need to fulfill internship or capstone project requirements. Also, they will include step by step instructions on how to get the process started so nonprofits know how to create an internship with an ASU student. So, get creative and create some interesting internships. This is a chance to get some very high level help.
