The purpose of Icarus Rocketry is to provide a platform for participation in high power rocketry competition. Icarus Rocketry is a student-driven team with a focus on advancing knowledge in high power rocketry through competition in national competitions including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Student Launch Projects and/or the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition. As a team, Icarus Rocketry strives to build this base of knowledge and experience to achieve status as the first student-led development and launch of a rocket past 100,000 feet above ground level (AGL), and ultimately 100,000 kilometers AGL.
