Meeting for Animal Rescues that Intake Animals from the Public–Meeting Topics:
Do you intake animals from the public? Would you like to cooperate and coordinate efforts with other animal rescues?
Would you like to brainstorm ways of stopping the flow of unwanted animals by solving issues before the animal becomes unwanted? Would you like more volunteers, donations of animal food and more foster homes? Other topics:
*****One big problem is that people call several rescues about the same animal case. They all begin working on the case not knowing other rescues are also trying to help. Can we create a system that allows us to work together to save more animals while saving time & energy?
*****Let’s have a brainstorming session about the common reasons why animals become unwanted and what the ideal pathways would be to assistance. (Ex. Animal placement needed due to a domestic violence situation, military deployment, etc.) Which organizations help in these situations? Who can best handle the case?
*****Share what your volunteer & donation needs are. Hear some ideas about how CommunityCause.org can help get the volunteers & needed supplies to help more animals.
*****Let’s exchange ideas about how can we inform the public about the services and solutions that are available to keep animals in their home. (Ex. Free food assistance & behavior assistance)
*****What are some ways that we might be able to stop the chaotic flow of unwanted animals into the system? (Ex: Work with realtors to advocate early placement of animals instead of a frantic call a few hours before the moving van arrives. Remind service providers who do work in people’s homes to be mindful of closing gates and doors so animals are not lost.)
Join us for this lively discussion. For directions & more information, please see below.
We will also discuss how you can use the “Emergency Foster Home” system, the “Stray Safe Houses”, the “Dog Food & Dog Supplies Available” and “Cat Food & Cat Supplies Available” services on the CommunityCause.org website.
