Main Services Provided, Interests Served or Populations Helped that this Organization Specializes in offering to the public: Do intake of dachshunds from the public
Our Mission Statement: We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit: Our Mission at Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue, Inc. (HTDR) is to save as many dachshunds as possible from suffering and premature death due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, injury, or illness. We foster unwanted dogs whose owners are no longer able or willing to provide for their care and place them with adoptive families who can provide loving, forever homes. We spay/neuter all dogs before adoption, and contact our adoptive families in the first week to check on the health of their relationship with their new pet. Our area of operation is the East Valley of the Greater Phoenix Area, Casa Grande, and north Tucson.
What we do. Who we Help: We rescue and foster abused, neglected, abandoned or unwanted dachshunds and adopt them out to the public. All of our dachshunds are spayed/neutered, current on rabbies, DHPP, and bordetella vaccinations, are microchipped, and are heart worm negative.
An Example of a Great Fit for us or a Typical or Ideal Client that Could make use of our Services is: One type of typical client will be well informed about dachshunds, will provide a forever home to a dachshund, will keep the dog as an indoor dog only and keep it current on all vaccinations.
Another type of typical client is someone that can no longer care for their dachshund and is in need of finding it a new forever home.
The Process for Receiving Our Services is: Go to www.happytailsdr.org and download a consultation form or fill out an online adoption application (same form). We will then go through an interview process with you to make sure that we have a good fit between you and the dog you are interested in. We ask for three references, and will do a home visit.
