We have the opportunity to hold a Volunteer Palooza at Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe on July 25th. π
We have reached the maximum of 10 Animal Rescues confirmed to attend. This is a great independent bookstore so it should be a good crowd of willing volunteers. We are firming up the time for the event but most events there begin at 7PM.
Please DO NOT contact Changing Hands Bookstore about the event. They are kind enough to donate the use of their space. We do not want to bother them with lots of calls and we want to make this easy for them to host this event! The East Valley Coalition of Rescues (E.V.C.O.R.) and CommunityCause.org are collecting the R.S.V.P. list.
Please R.S.V.P. and ask any questions in the comment section at this link: Animal Rescue Volunteer PaloozaβR.S.V.P. That way any questions can be answered for everyone at the same time.
Here are the Animal Rescues that will be attending:
Rescuing Animas In Need (RAIN) http://azrain.org/
Animals in Disaster (AID), Empty Bowl Pet Food Pantry http://www.emptybowlpetfoodpantry.org/
Friends for Life http://www.azfriends.org/
Phoenix Animal Care Coalition http://pacc911.org/
Arizona Sheltie Rescue http://www.azsheltierescue.com/
Southwest Collie Rescue http://www.nmcollierescue.com
Animal Defense League of Arizona http://www.adlaz.org/
Arizona Beagle Rescue http://www.azbeaglerescue.com/
Lost Our Home Pet Foundation http://www.lostourhome.org/
Requirements:
1. Animal rescue should be based in the east valley or very active in rescuing or doing adoptions in the east valley.
2. Member in good standing of PACC911 or Coalition of all Breed Rescue (C.A.B.R.A.)
3. Preference for the slots will be given to groups who are also part of the East Valley Coalition of Rescues (E.V.C.O.R.) since they are active in the east valley.
Each animal rescue group will have a few minutes to speak. It is your chance to let people attending the event know what volunteer and donation needs you have. Please share what type of animals you help and what services you provide in the east valley along with any special projects or events you have coming up.
If you would like to attend the event,
1. Please send me a list of volunteer & donated item needs.
2. Please R.S.V.P. at the link below. Animal Rescue Volunteer Palooza–R.S.V.P.
I will be speaking first about the needs that are common to all animal rescues so we do not need to keep repeating the same volunteer positions or donated item needs. That way each group can use their time to share information specific to their animal rescue. π
We will have limited space for tables where animal rescues can display their brochures. The tables will be provided for us by Changing Hands.
Right now we do not have permission for live animals unless they are service dogs covered by Federal law. Animal rescues may, however, bring pictures of their adoptable animals.
Will you Join Us at the Animal Rescue Volunteer Palooza at Changing Hands on Monday, July 25th?
Please R.S.V.P. in the comment section below to be one of the lucky animal rescues that get to describe what services they provide, share where their animal adoptions are located & present information on the type of volunteer help they need as well as the donated items they need. Then…let the networking & connecting begin. π
Please R.S.V.P. and ask any questions in the comment section below. That way any questions can be answered for everyone at the same time.

16 Jun 2016The start time for the event has been confirmed! We will begin at 7PM.
Also, good news! This following information will be added to the website promotion for the event.
” We will be having an Animal Food and Dog & Cat Care Item Donation Station at a table outside the entrance of Changing Hands. Animal rescues especially need canned cat/dog food, toys, towels, comforters, blankets, pillows, dog/cat carriers & crates. Thanks for your donations!”
Does anyone have a volunteer or two that can sit at the table and accept donations?
The Animal Defense League of Arizona (ADLA) will be attending. Only 5 presentation slots remain.

16 Jun 2016My name is Susan, I’m the volunteer coordinator for ADLA. I will be more than happy to attend the volunteer palooza on July 25th. We are looking for volunteers that can help with TNR efforts for the elderly and disabled or for people that have large colonies and can’t do it by themselves. As far as donations, we are always in need of trap covers and help with printing jobs or costs, and of course monetary donations.
One of our programs is The Spay Neuter Hotline. We also promote TNR-Trap, Neuter, Return for outdoor cats.
