Step 1—Decide on the amount of your Charitable Donation. The amount you donate, up to $200 (or $400 per married couple filing jointly), will be the amount you may claim as a state tax credit.
Your Charitable Donation results in a State Tax Credit that will reduce the amount of taxes you owe to the Arizona Department of Revenue or it will increase the amount of your refund from the state! For instance, if you donate the maximum $400 for a married couple, your Arizona tax bill will be $400 less or your refund will be $400 more. No extra money comes out of your pocket! You just get to have control over who gets to directly benefit from the “taxes” you already owe! ***You receive a $1 tax credit for every $1 you donate!
You may add specifications to your donation pledge, if you wish. For instance, you can state that you only want to help schools in a certain city or only Title 1 schools that will use the funds for music, S.T.E.M. or sports programs. Or, if you wish, you may split your $400 donation ($200 for an individual) among more than one public school and still qualify for a maximum state credit of $400 ($200 for an individual). Just send pledges in as 2 different donation pledges below.
Step 2—Wait to be contacted by a school that wants to accept your challenge to receive $10 for every spay & neuter that they are able to generate. If you decide it is a match, simply contact them using the information given and follow the normal process for making a donation that qualifies for a School Tax Credit. That transaction is between you and the school.
This Community Project functions just like a walkathon fundraiser does.
The school will receive $10 for each dog or cat spay or neuter that their school, students, teachers & administrators are able to influence our Maricopa County community to get done. That is much better than most fundraisers like selling candy bars where you only earn a few cents from an expensive candy bar that is not even healthy for you! With this Community Project you are helping children, animals, the school, your community and yourself all at the same time! It is a win-win-win-win-win! 🙂
The great news is that many companies match, double or even triple the charitable donations made by their employees! Thus, with your employer’s 1:1, 2:1 or even 3:1 match of your charitable donation, a school can earn $20, $30 or even $40 for each completed spay or neuter! Please strive to get the maximum impact for your generous gift by checking to see if your employer will match your charitable donation.
Step 4—Inform us about which school has accepted your donation and tell us the amount of your Charitable Contribution. Let us know via the “Share Information & Resources” comment section below as a reply to your initial donation pledge. Once we know which school you sent your donation to and the amount, we will adjust their tally on our website and begin tracking their progress towards meeting the Spay & Neuter Target Goals that they have committed to achieve.
Step 5—You will be contacted when the school successfully reaches their goal and has fulfilled the commitment to receive your donation pledge. Congratulations! You have helped children, schools and animals all at the same time!

American Service Animal Society—ASAS helps disabled veterans train their own dog to be their service dog (SD). If the veteran does not have a dog, then ASAS will help them find the appropriate dog for their needs and lifestyle either through shelters, rescues or breeders.
Angel of Mercy, Shelter of Hope
Angel of Mercy, Shelter of Hope, will be providing a safe and confidential environment for women and their children who are in danger due to domestic violence. We will also house their pets. The staff will provide programs and services designed to empower, heal and help women learn to rebuild new futures free from violence for themselves and their children. During their stay at Angel of Mercy, residents will receive food, clothing, group and individualized support. Angel of Mercy will provide child day care for mothers who are employed. We will also provide on-site therapy for adults and children. A Transition Advocate will be designated to assist the residents as they re-locate and re-enter the community. Angel of Mercy will also provide a kennel for the victims/survivors pets. All the necessary care will be provided for the pets. Angel of Mercy Shelter is the first domestic violence shelter that allows pets of all types.

Sojourner provides a continuum of multicultural services to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence in Arizona, while collaborating with the global community on education, research and advocacy to end domestic violence. Lost Our Home, an nonprofit animal rescue, has been working with Sojourner to provide temporary care for pets at our shelter. Our new program will allow women and children who have left domestic violence
situations to keep their beloved pets with them at the shelter.

I am pledging $200 to any Title 1 high school that accepts the Dog and Cat Spay & Neuter Challenge! Just send in a reply to my comment if your school would like to accept my $200 donation.
In return for my $200 donation, your high school promises to get the word out about local spay & neuter resources by telling people at your school and by sharing the information with the community through your social media channels. You will get $10 for each completed spay or neuter that any community members credit to your school’s effort to get the word out. You have until December 31st, 2016 to meet the spay/neuter number you commit to achieving. Then, there are more donation dollars available to you for next year 2017!!!
If you know other Title 1 schools that may want to participate, please let them know. I have lots of other friends who care about children and also care about animals. There are more donation $$$$$ dollars available to help Title 1 schools! Simply ask Title 1 schools to send in their spay/neuter pledge numbers that they can commit to as a comment below and we will help find them donors who will accept their commitment and pledge $$$$$ to their Title 1 school!
