Permaculture Paradise in Northern Arizona Project Proposal:
Our goal is to save animals and provide free, organic produce to those in need: one tree, one acre at a time. Our desire is to create a self-sufficient animal sanctuary and farm based on permaculture principles.
Here is how the Permaculture Paradise in Northern Arizona Project would proceed:
- Survey land and begin re-introducing native vegetation to start rebuilding the soil.
- Construct rainwater harvesting systems to automatically dispense water to developing plants.
- Begin planting food-producing perennials (shrubs, grasses, trees, vines, etc) that are adapted to climate (peach, cherry, walnut, fig, grape, etc.)
- Achieve self-sufficiency for food & energy. Become a role model of permaculture principles for others. Offer food raised on the land to those in need free of charge.
- Open sanctuary and begin rescuing as many animals as the land and caretakers can adequately support.
- Provide a regular, monthly meal and community gathering space to visitors at no charge whatsoever.

The world is not getting better; not at the rate it NEEDS to, anyhow. This project is about recognizing that our leaders (worldwide) are NOT doing what needs to be done to save this planet and make sure that our children aren’t the last generation of human beings. Scientists all around the world have been warning us for decades that this would happen, but money has always found a way to steer our leaders away from these educated warnings. Now, the oceans are dying, the forests are being ground up to farm cattle, and entire cities are filled with smog, so thick, that there are days when the people living there are warned to not even go outside!
This problem–this disaster–this penultimate hour that has brought us to the very eve of our extinction is NOT the work of some force that is beyond our control.
How? How could something this cataclysmic be ALLOWED to happen?!?!

That’s right! You! Me! Us!
This project is how WE take back our freedom! It’s how WE, we good power, refuse to allow evil to prevail!
Here’s the plan:
I’ve already purchased the land–20 acres near Show Low & Snow Flake. Now, I just need to start to follow in Mother Nature’s footsteps; bring life back to the desert; and then teach others how to do the same. Permaculture; earthship and earthbag construction. We follow the principles of those earth-embracers who have come before us and apply the laws of nature to ensure that we can rebuild the forest, Eden, in a way that provides free food for all, and restores our connection with this planet and with each other. We do this by digging swales to trap water; we do it by sowing seeds that are native to the area and beneficial to the lives of all who inhabit the sanctuary (human, plant and animal). We do it by pursuing truth and companionship. What information we obtain from this adventure, we teach FREELY to any who are willing to listen.
This process is NOT something that needs to happen slowly; freedom, the rejuvenation of our planet and the step backward from extinction, towards salvation, starts with just one step. It starts today–RIGHT NOW–if we are WILLING to take that first step. We ALLOW our species to drive itself to extinction. We ALLOW ourselves to fail.

We need your help with each of the following steps. Please contact us if you have any tips, information, resources or connections to anyone you know who may be able to help.
- Permaculture Paradise in Northern Arizona–Our Plan:
Step #1–Survey land and begin re-introducing native vegetation to start rebuilding the soil.
Step #2–Construct rainwater harvesting systems to automatically dispense water to developing plants.
Step #3–Construct natural fence (thorny vines and trees and cacti) to protect the sanctuary from poachers.
Step #4–Develop swales to trap water in soil and replenish water table.
Step #5–Begin planting food-producing perennials (shrubs, grasses, trees, vines, etc) that are adapted to climate (peach, cherry, walnut, fig, grape, etc.)
Step #6–Develop simple, earthbag living quarters for sanctuary guardians/caretakers.
Step #7–Develop living quarters for rescued animals.
Step #8–Drill well (additional water source)
Step #9–Develop small, wind and solar grid to power tools and other necessary devices around sanctuary.
Step #10–Dig root cellar (to store food for animals and guardians/caretakers).

Anyone who is passionate about social justice; animal liberation; human liberation; and who’s ready to do their part to save this world. Experience IS appreciated, but all that’s necessary is a desire to help; an ability to learn; and a commitment to the idea–freedom. Volunteer laborers are needed!
We will be building earthbag and earthship shelters; digging swales and the root cellar: planting trees; sowing seeds; LEARNING TOGETHER; making friendships; revitalizing and establishing ecosystems; rejuvenating water and food resources; and working outside, in the glory of nature, to save our planet.

Who will be Helped and/or What Problem will be solved by this Permaculture Paradise in Northern Arizona Project?
This project resolves a number of issues that people and animals often face:
We will begin this project in Apache County, Arizona with the hope of extending the concept to other locations.
The first issue is sustainability and “living green” since our Permaculture Paradise in Northern Arizona will be a model of how to live in alignment with Mother Nature. We hope to be a good example of the principles of permaculture and teach others about how to put the principles into practice.
The second issue is animal rescue since we will provide a safe haven for rescued animals to live out their lives.
The third issue is animal welfare & advocacy since we will promote veganism and create a model for how to treat animals at our sactuary.
The fourth issue is self sufficiency since we will be a model of how humans can choose to live a new way with renewable energy, recycling, food self sufficiency, social equity principles, etc.
Why is this Permaculture Paradise in Northern Arizona Project important? What good result will be accomplished with the Help of the Community?
Problem #1:–Food Scarcity–This project will end food scarcity by reuniting humans with natural farming.
Problem #2:–Poverty–This project will end world poverty by teaching people how to work in small communities to achieve self-sufficiency.
Problem #3:–Animal Suffering–It will promote animal welfare & advocacy by proving to people that NO animal products need to be ingested by humans in order to THRIVE.
Problem #4:–Stress from Modern Life–It will free people from the oppression of money and government by teaching self-sustainability and making NECESSARY resources (food, water, shelter) operationally infinite.
The Permaculture Paradise in Northern Arizona Project solves all of these problems! This is THE end-all-be-all project, and I want to make our a reality for me, for you and for EVERYONE else inhabiting this planet.

Financial Budget for our Project
If all the materials and labor can be donated/volunteered, I don’t need ANY money!!! SERIOUSLY!
However, if these materials and labor CAN’T be donated/volunteered, I expect this project to run about $60,000
$10,000 for the well, pump, and casing
$10,000 for the hole (12’x20′) to create the root cellar
$25,000 for earthbag building materials/solar grid
$10,000 for cisterns, and materials for irrigation system
$5,000 for seeds, trees etc.
Let’s be the generation that saves the would–not the one that ensures our extinction.
Again, I’m doing this as an individual–NOT A NONPROFIT, so I need all the help you’re willing to commit to. I can save this world–but not without your help.

Finished Project Objectives:
When this project is complete, I will spend the rest of my life traveling to wherever I can, as much as I can, to FREELY share this information with as many people as possible.
***When the Permaculture Paradise in Northern Arizona is fully operational, it will supply enough money to feed ALL the animals and guardians/caretakers who reside there, with PLENTY of surplus food to feed the surrounding community.
***The farm will provide a sanctuary for animals who would have otherwise died in factory farms, as well as abandoned pets and rescued/injured wildlife.
***The farm will provide regular, monthly classes to the public AT NO CHARGE WHATSOEVER.
***The farm will provide a regular, monthly meal and community gathering to visitors AT NO CHARGE WHATSOEVER.
***The farm will be an example of how we can, RIGHT NOW, save the world and our species from extinction. It will be a haven–a place of healing; learning; and sanctuary to all who seek it.
