This program provides pet food, supplies & veterinary care to low income households at 150% of poverty level. This makes it possible for them to retain their companion animal instead of releasing the animal to an animal shelter.

Project Description Details
Many individuals due to retirement or loss of job find the income of the household now inadequate to support their companion animal. The animal is then turned into the county shelter or released on the street. This program would support individuals retain their companion animals.
Companion animals are important to individuals and families by providing companionship during hard times. This promotes health to individuals and families that may have nothing else.

Make contact with food manufacturers such as Purina, MARS, and Southwest Pet Food for participation in program by donating or selling product at their cost. Contact Banfield Hospitals to see about low cost or free medical for animals
Our Next Steps
Meeting with Empty Bowl Pet Food Pantry for introduction to Southwest Pet Food

This is step 2 of 4 phases we would like to accomplish for the community. The 1st was a senior for senior program and the 3rd and 4th will provide assistance to the rescues and shelters. All this can happen from the same administration and building setup in phase #1
