About Us

Local to Global Justice (L2GJ) was founded in 2001 by students at Arizona State University-Tempe. The group is currently composed of students, faculty members, and community members and is open to everyone.

Our primary goal is to educate ASU students and the greater community about issues of local and global justice, while promoting diversity, freedom of speech, and academic freedom of discussion. Home of the Teach-In

The Teach-In, L2GJ’s well attended, two day annual event at ASU – Tempe, seeks to connect local diversity, sustainability, social justice, and human rights issues to larger global struggles. It has become an outstanding space for the sharing of experiences and knowledge between scholars and activists working on a wide range of social justice, human rights and sustainability issues. The goal of this event is to bring together students, faculty, and community members to learn from one another through analysis of contemporary social problems (and their possible solutions), while promoting diversity, freedom of speech, and academic freedom of discussion.
